Eye-Link, Minnesota has granted over forty five assistive equipment packages to individuals and their families in the past twelve months!
We have delivered these vital adaptive technologies to hundreds of residents experiencing uncorrectable sight loss. We are an all-volunteer no salaries nonprofit charity. Our mission is to provide a wide array of highly specialized assistive technologies and equipment to family members, friends, and neighbors who are struggling with severe visual impairments. Adaptive or assistive technologies are hardware and software packages that give “voice” or Braille output to computers, smart phones, small scanners that can “read” household mail, food, and can labels.
The World Health Organization estimates that 4% of world’s population has irreparable sight loss! That translates in Minnesota to 250,000 people affected. You probably have a family member, friend, neighbor, or work colleague who is starting to, or is losing their functional sight. Children, teens, and seniors who receive these unique life altering technologies from Eye-Link, Minnesota tell us that they immediately begin to reacquire their sense of independence and restore self sufficiency. It can also put a grant recipient on a path to employment!
